OKTAGON 96 puts 12 fights into SAP Garden in Munich, Germany on Saturday, October 31, and the one at the top is for the welterweight title. OKTAGON's welterweight rankings have listed no champion since August, and the No. 1 and No. 5 men on that board get five rounds to settle who holds the belt next.

Amiran Gogoladze (18-3), 28, from Georgia, has won four straight in OKTAGON since a first-round stoppage loss to Darrius Flowers on the Contender Series in August 2022: decisions over Liam Etebar, Łukasz Siwiec and Leandro Silva, then a first-round knockout of Ion Surdu at OKTAGON 86 in April. He has twice been booked against Kaik Brito and twice it fell through, the second time a title fight at OKTAGON 93 in September. Felix Klinkhammer (11-0), a German who trains at London Shootfighters, has never lost as a pro, and eight of his 11 wins are submissions. He went 4-0 in Ares FC, then returned to OKTAGON last November and tapped Máté Kertész in the first round at OKTAGON 80.

The fight placed second on the card is a lightweight pairing of No. 3 Gökhan Aksu (14-7-1) and No. 4 Niko Samsonidse (13-4). Aksu lost a lightweight title fight to Mateusz Legierski in June, stopped in the first round; Samsonidse knocked out Denis Frimpong in the first round on the same card.

Start times

  • Card begins: 6:00 p.m. CET in Munich and Prague (1:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. GMT / 10:00 a.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. in Tbilisi), Saturday, October 31

OKTAGON has published one start time for the night and has not yet split the card into prelims and a main card. Mind the clocks: Europe left summer time on October 25 and the US does not until November 1, so for this one weekend Munich is five hours ahead of New York instead of six. The main event is the last of 12 fights, so it will start well after 6 p.m. CET, and the event page keeps a running estimate as the night moves.

The full card

Fight order (6:00 p.m. CET / 1:00 p.m. ET start)

The welterweight division runs right through this card. Four more of its top eight are on it: No. 3 Surdu, the man Gogoladze knocked out in April, meets No. 7 Ayari, who was booked against Klinkhammer at OKTAGON 91 in July before that fight came off, and No. 4 Paradeiser (23-11) faces No. 8 Pfeifer (8-1), who won at OKTAGON 85 in March and stopped Niklas Stolze in the first round in June. At heavyweight, Todev is No. 1 in the division and No. 10 pound for pound, and Biyong is No. 6.

This card has been stable. Bouts were added between August 27 and October 8, Deiga-Scheck vs Chotěnovský the last of them, and none has been taken off. Bartl vs Manning came off OKTAGON 95 and lands here instead. Every change is logged on the event page.
